The week beginning Ninth Sunday after Pentecost - July 25, 2010

Ministry Opportunities...

  • FOOD PANTRY
"Let not the needy be forgotten,
nor the hope of the poor be taken away."
Please try to remember those in our community that are struggling with having enough to eat. One in 8 children are meal uncertain, meaning they do not know where their next meal is coming from. As summer begins, children no longer have access to no cost or low cost meals at school. Donations of fruit, vegetables, soups or other canned goods will be gratefully received.

There is a food collection basket in the Main Hall and in the narthex of the church.  Please help us to help others.

  • Thursday, July 22
    RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

The American Red Cross is sponsoring a Blood Drive at Barnwell on Thursday, July 22nd from 1-7pm in the Community Room. Contact Sue Delp at 758-9035 to schedule an appointment. Each donor will receive a coupon for a free carton of Friendly's ice cream.
  • ALTAR FLOWERS
Flowers may be placed on the altar through Easter Tide and Pentecost. These dates listed are already taken - May 9th, June 13th, June 20th and July 25th. All other dates for May, June and July are currently available.

Flowers may be placed for any occasion, not only in loving memory of someone, but also for joyous celebrations of births, anniversary or baptisms.

The donation request for flowers remains the same at $25.00. The flowers are dependent on donations, if we do not have a memorial or donation for that weekend, no flowers will be placed on the altar.
  • MINISTRY HELP
We are in desperate need of parishioners willing to serve in the acolyte ministry. Adults and children are encouraged to participate. Please contact Fr. Hunter if you willing to serve.
  • SHARE THE WOOL
We continue to knit and crochet our way through the stores of wool people have donated. We have several newly completed shawls and throws which will be blessed on Sunday. We have given out two or three more, and one has been marked for a friend of Christine's who is in a home.

If you know of anyone who should be given one of these prayer shawls, please let us know. You can contact St. Paul's at 758-6271 or stpauls@berk.com, or Laura Lane at 758-7271, or 929-1071 or LMLane@fairpoint.net
