St. Paul’s
Episcopal Church is located in the center of the historic
Village of Kinderhook.
-
We are an active,
pastoral sized parish, drawing members
from all parts of
Columbia County as well as from neighboring counties.

Our Mission
Statement confirms that:
We welcome all, and seek to share, serve, and celebrate the love
of Jesus Christ.
-
We worship at
Saturday evening and Sunday services; we have a weekday Mass and
Bible Study as well as daily Morning Prayer.
-
We gather at
coffee hour and at monthly dinners, and we host a Halloween
Party and other social events. Our special events include our
Strawberry Festival and Christmas Bazaar.
-
The St. Paul’s
family is diverse:
-
We are
third-generation St. Paul’s members and new members.
-
We are cradle
Episcopalians and people new to the Episcopal Church.
-
We’re
involved at St. Paul’s as lay ministers, Altar Guild
members, pastoral caregivers, Parish Life and Hospitality
Committee members, Church School teachers, acolytes, ushers,
cooks, carpenters, yard crew, and painters
-
We are
nurses, doctors, mechanics, program directors,
psychologists, technicians, computer experts, teachers, food
service workers, artists and more
-
We work at
large and small companies, as public employees and as sole
proprietors.
We ride motorcycles and horses, tractors and skateboards.
-
We love all
kinds of music, both sacred and secular. We play in rock
bands and in early music groups.
-
We’re working
– sometimes at more than one job – and we’re retired.
-
We’re
parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles,
teens, kids, and babies.
-
We support a
broad and diverse spectrum of social action and political
causes.
-
We’re
involved in our community through Masons, Eastern Star, Boy
and Girl Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, Share the Wool, youth
sports, school board leadership, and more.
-
We’re engaged
in different lifestyles.
-
We’re
committed to growing together as a family in Christ.
-
The St. Paul’s
campus includes our Church building, the Rectory, the McNary
Center, and the Sexton’s House.
-
The church
building was designed by Richard Upjohn and features stained
glass windows by Tiffany and other artisans.
-
The McNary
Center is the largest centrally located handicapped
accessible gathering place in Kinderhook. It is a polling
place and home to many different community groups. McNary
houses the St. Paul’s offices, schoolrooms used for Church
School and our Pre-School Program, large gathering rooms and
a fully-equipped kitchen.
-
St. Paul’s
maintains the Sexton’s house as residential rental property.
